iMesh is a popular filesharing program which includes several connections to online social media networks. At some point in the past, iMesh was involved in a legal tangle which saw it lose most of its userbase, oweing to the fact that most of the content on the service was illegal.
Fast forward to today and you have a 100% legal filesharing service, certified by the Recording Industry Association of American (the RIAA). With regards to the MPAA, or Motion Picture Association of America, iMesh can now get by legally by limiting the size of movies being shared on the network to 50MB in size or less than 15 minutes long. This means that full free movies are no longer available on the iMesh network.
The refreshed iMesh network now provides access to over 15 million legal mp3 and video downloads. It also features a syncing function with your iPod or iPad device.
The company has also secured rights with the 4 major record label producers in the U.S. and Canada.
The video and audio interface in the application is actually rather powerful with a 10-band equalizer and a built-in CD burner, making it no longer necessary to pull out the old Nero Burning Rom.
The great thing about the new iMesh is that it now gives you access to hundreds of yet-to-be-discovered bands from across the world.
The social aspect of iMesh has also been improved in newer versions, making it a fun way to talk to and to meet new people online. You can also send songs to friends.
Contrary to popular belief and several requests, iMesh is not available for Mac OS X.
iMesh is licensed as Shareware for the Windows operating system / platform from p2p filesharing software and can be used as a free trial until the trial period ends (after an unspecified number of days). The iMesh 12 demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions and is not necessarily the download of the full version.
Compatibility with this torrent client software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from iMesh Inc.
We have tested iMesh 12 against malware with several different programs. Please review the test results. We have not certified this program as clean. [Read more]
